Nostalgia: Thinkabout. Remember daytime TV when you were sick?

This is some strong musical memory for me. Public television (KQED, channel 9 in the Bay) used to play this kind of shit during the day when I was little. If I was sick, I could check out an episode of Thinkabout. This is part of what Boards of Canada, the band, stirs up for me. And who doesn’t love flashing colored disco lights–in your brain?

This will date me, but my memories of being home sick when I was very little are of my mom ironing while watching Days of Our Lives or listening to Karen Carpenter or Barry Manilow on the 8 track player.
